About the Film

Ray (Pete Postlethwaite), an unemployed man whose marriage has just failed, gets a break when he finds an under-the-table job painting high- voltage towers. In a twist of fate, Ray meets Gerry (Rachel Griffiths), an Australian backpacker who joins the crew. Sparks begin to fly until Ray's ex-wife Lyn complains that Ray is no longer spending enough time with his own children and warns him that Gerry will probably move on and leave him behind. Though Gerry admits that this may be true, Ray chooses not to see the obstacles in his path and pursues the romance anyway. Can they truly be soulmates, or will Ray's heart end up broken?
