We like to support big causes when we can (and who doesn't?), so it pleases us to announce that, for the release of John Madden's THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL, we are partnering with Take Part, for a chance to win a $5,000 grant via a project of your choice. The theme of the project must be "improving your community and the world", something that I'm sure we can all get behind. Read on for more info on this collaboration!

From the Take Part/MARIGOLD HOTEL page:

Catalino Tapia emigrated from Mexico to the United States at the age of 20 with six dollars in his pocket. He built a successful gardening business and today, at the age of 64, he runs a scholarship fund to help Latino youths have a chance at the American dream. Catalino is one of hundreds of individuals to work with Encore.org, an organization that provides pathways for individuals in the second half of life to start projects that make a difference in the world.

In conjunction with Encore.org and Road Scholar, Participant Media and TakePart.com want you to follow in the footsteps of Catalino, hundreds of other Encore.org and Road Scholar participants, and the characters in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel by submitting your ideas for improving your community and the world.

Five winners over 50 each month (from April to October) will receive a $5,000 grant toward their project, and one grand prize winner each month will receive an additional educational or service-learning trip via Road Scholar. Check back in April for full contest details.

We'll keep you update on this project as we move towards the film's May 4 release date. For more, check out the MARIGOLD official web site.
